HI, I'M BEN.
My name is Ben! My passion for photography originated from my love for landscapes, and since 2017 I have enjoyed experimenting and travelling all over the Cornish and Jurassic coastlines with my camera and drone creating beautiful landscape photographs. I also enjoy travelling to different cities, capturing the architecture and cityscapes they have to offer. London is a favourite of mine and Portsmouth has always been a special place for me. This love for landscape photography took me to Portsmouth University, where I graduated with a degree in Photography.
Wedding days are something I really love photographing, as I get to share one of the biggest days in your life with you and your family, and create memories that'll last for generations.

My approach to wedding photography is relaxed and unobtrusive, in a documentary style. I like to take a step back and observe your day, capturing it as it naturally unfolds! I aim to capture the day in a way that you hopefully barely notice I am there, so that you’ll be able to look back at your photographs and relive the day as it happened - not directed purely for images... I want to capture genuine emotion and joy, rather than stage shots with no authenticity!
Get ready to be candid! While I will naturally get some posed shots of family, my favourite photographs are the unplanned moments that you may not have even noticed on the day. Heartfelt and genuine emotions, and a real representation of how your day went.
EMOTIVE & UNOBTRUSIVE PHOTOGRAPHY
THE prep...
The last couple of hours before your ceremony can also be the most stressful.. but they don't have to be! Your wedding won't happen without you, and it's important for you to take a moment to relax and breathe. I'll be there to document your morning, and the calm before the storm!
I'll use this time to get to know your family & closest friends, and photograph the whole process!
THE ceremony...
Your wedding ceremony is why we are all there to begin with, it's the centre point of your day. Therefore I like to intrude on this as little as possible, and make my presence unknown! Whether you're having a big ceremony, or a quiet one, I'll do my best to capture all the joy in the room, avoiding getting in anyones way.
Naturally, I do prefer 'unplugged' ceremonies; photographing you guys is what you're booking me for after all! It will always be a recommendation of mine that you ask your guests to put their phones away and enjoy the moment that they won't see again!
THE GROUP SHOTS...
Group shots are an essential part of your big day, I get that, but I do advise you keep the amount low - 10 shots maximum. Keeping it short and sweet means everyone can get back to having a good time promptly, which is what matters most!
I try to refrain from classic poses and just capture smiles, and people messing about and having a laugh, as it's the real you that you want documented! However, if there’s something specific you’d like I’ll do my best!
Do remember that I'll be capturing your guests throughout the day either way; so don't stress about not having pictures of your favourite aunt or your brother-in-law!
Couple shots...
My favourite part of the day by far is sneaking away with you both for some shots of you as newlyweds. This tends to be straight after the group shots, but if the weather is promising then I always ask if you can squeeze in some shots near sunset!
I usually just let you guys be yourselves, and it gives you both time to catch up on the events of the day!
THE dance floor...
Your first dance as a married couple is a very intimate moment, and it's one I aim to make look as glamorous as possible!
However...
The rest of the night is filled with your friends (and family!) who may or may not have had too much to drink by this point, going wild on the dance floor! This is something I love to capture; people having genuine fun and just generally making themselves look silly! I'm not afraid to get in your guest's faces with my camera and get involved!
